Job Requirements:

  • Over 7 years of recent experience in a System Administrator role or similar function.
  • Excellent IT and client relationship skills to manage a group of select clients
  • At least four years of formal IT education or a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification
  • Collaborate well with NIC team members such as support techs, other System Administrators, operations staff, and Technical Account Managers
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • TCP/IP v4 networking and routing concepts
    • Microsoft SQL 2008 or above
    • Microsoft Exchange 2013
    • Hyper-V and ESXi
    • SANs and other storage technologies

In this role, the candidate would provide remote and on-site administrations of client’s IT infrastructures, including research and development of technical solutions, vendor coordination, technical consulting, network management. This person would be the point of escalation for complex support issues, which requires excellent coordination and team leadership skills.

The candidate is expected to have advanced technical skills to independently manage the following:

Position:IT Tech Support Specialist

Location:Los Angeles / San Fernando Valley / Orange County, CA

At NIC, we have three levels of IT Tech Support Specialist positions:

Level 1 IT Support Tech Requirements

  • 2-3 years of recent experience in a corporate environment as an IT Tech or similar function
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication skills and customer service skills
  • Able to follow directions well

Level 2 IT Support Tech Requirements

  • 3-4 years of experience in a corporate environment as an IT Tech or similar function
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication skills and customer service skills
  • Able to follow directions well

Level 3 IT Support Tech Requirements

  • At least 5 year of experience in a corporate environment as an IT Tech or similar function
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication skills and customer service skills
  • Able to follow directions well.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • The ability to mentor and train other lower level techs when needed

All Levels of Tech Support candidates must be able to collaborate well with NIC team members such as other support techs, system admins, operations staff, and technical account managers. This is a position for someone who can work in a fast-paced environment and exercise good judgment. A reliable form of transportation is a must as you will be required to travel throughout the Los Angeles and Orange County areas.

In this role, the candidate will provide remote and on-site technical support to NIC clients. Responsibilities will include deploying, maintaining, and supporting network devices and connectivity with servers, workstations, laptops, mobile devices, printers, peripherals, operating systems, and applications as needed.

All Levels of Tech Support Candidates must meet two of the following educational requirements:

  • A+
  • Network+
  • Microsoft Solutions Certification
  • Apple Certified Support Professional
  • Other IT certifications or formal IT education

The candidate is expected to have intermediate technical skills to independently manage the following:

  • Microsoft Windows Vista/7/8 Support
  • Office 2010/2013 Support
  • Email (Exchange, Gmail, Google Apps, Office 365)
  • Active Directory user management, file and print sharing, and NTFS permissions
  • PC Hardware, Mobile Device, and Printer Support
  • Virus cleanup and Local/Online Backup Software
  • Remote Management Software (LogMeIn, Lab Tech, Rescue)

  • Collaborate well with NIC team members such as support techs, system admins, operations staff, and other Technical Account Managers
  • At least four years of formal IT education or a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification
  • Strong knowledge of:

The candidate’s main job duty will be to oversee and work with NIC techs to ensure client support requests are completed and SLA’s are met promptly. In this role, they will manage select client relationships while acting as a lead for technicians assigned to service these clients. They will also be responsible for creating, implementing, monitoring, and executing client projects, as well as providing day-to-day support. This person would be the point of escalation for complex support issues, a responsibility that requires excellent coordination and team leadership skills.
